First Rites
Here’s an opportunity for all men who want to help prepare teen boys to enter puberty and thrive in adolescence. Illuman DC is offering online training for adult men lead by Nicky Wilks of Journeymen, Vashon Island, Washington. The course can be taken as a stand-alone, or as a foundation course for in-person intensive on March 31, also lead by Nicky.
Illuman will offer a Father/Son weekend April 1-2 immediately after the in-person training, and a First Rites - Young Men Rising for 13- 15 year old guys in October.
Nicky Wilks will lead four sessions of two hours each. The modules of skills and processes work will be 90 minutes each -- with centering and team building for about 30 minutes.
The modules will be virtual on the second Monday of each month at 7:00PM – 9:00PM EST as follows: December 12, January 9, February 13 and March 13.
We strongly encourage live participation, but sessions will be recorded and Nicky will have some written material, so a man who had to miss will be able to keep up. Again, we really want everyone to participate on-line as part of the team building.
The online is the conceptual and foundational intro that enables us to plunge into experiential learning for those who we gather in person on March 31.
We will also know each other through container building, shared language and materials; thus be able to move into more complex levels.
